Steering tie rod may be missing a washer — recall 19V601

Élevée

On a small number of vehicles the steering tie rod end may have been assembled without a required spherical washer (BMW calls it a cone collar disc). Over time the tie rod end can wear excessively and break, causing loss of wheel guidance and increasing the risk of a crash. Applies to: Only the 2019 BMW X2 xDrive28i covered by recall 19V601 (BMW SIB 32 07 19). BMW counted approximately one X2, built on March 13, 2019; the same recall also covers some 2018-2019 X1 and 2019 MINI models. Only a BMW dealer can confirm by VIN whether a vehicle is included and whether the repair has been done.

Solution: Have a BMW dealer check the VIN for open recall 19V601. Under the recall the dealer inspects both tie rods for the missing washer and, if necessary, replaces the affected tie rods and ball joints (swivel bearings) and performs a wheel alignment, free of charge.

2025 X2 Integrated Brake System Recall 26V-422

Élevée

BMW is recalling certain 2025 BMW X2 vehicles under NHTSA campaign 26V422000. The integrated brake (IB) system in these X2s may malfunction, and the malfunction can either take away power brake assist or leave the Antilock Brake (ABS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) systems not working properly. For an X2 driver the first case means the brake pedal requires far more effort and the car needs more room to stop; the second means the electronic safety nets you rely on in hard braking or a slippery corner may not intervene as designed, which can lead to loss of control. Either outcome raises crash risk, which is why BMW is inspecting the hardware rather than issuing a software-only fix. The 428-vehicle figure attached to this recall is the total across all models in the campaign, not the number of X2s. X2s repaired earlier under recall 24V739 or 24V104 must have the new remedy done as well.

Symptômes: Hard brake pedal / loss of power assist · Longer distance required to stop · ABS system not working correctly · DSC (stability control) not working correctly

Solution: Schedule the free recall service at a BMW dealer, where the integrated brake system is inspected and replaced if it is found to be defective. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed August 21, 2026, and you can confirm whether your particular 2025 X2 is affected by entering its VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (VINs became searchable August 21, 2026). A previous repair under 24V739 or 24V104 does not cover this campaign. Questions: BMW customer service, 1-800-525-7417.

2018 X2 Crankshaft Sensor Safety Recall 18V-465

Élevée

NHTSA campaign 18V-465 covers certain 2018 BMW X2 sDrive28i and xDrive28i vehicles produced from May 16 through June 6, 2018. Incorrect sensor firmware can fail to process crankshaft-reluctor-ring input accurately, causing rough running, reduced power or an engine stall. Applicability is VIN-specific.

Symptômes: Rough-running engine · Reduced engine power · Engine stall

Solution: Check the VIN for an open 18V-465 campaign. If open, an authorized BMW dealer replaces the crankshaft sensor free of charge. A stall or sudden loss of power requires moving to a safe location and arranging BMW assistance; do not order a sensor from this card. X2 Integrated Brake System Defect — NHTSA Recall 24V104000 (2024-2025)

Élevée

For the 2024 and 2025 X2, BMW filed NHTSA recall 24V104000 covering a possible malfunction of the integrated brake (IB) system. The malfunction can either remove power brake assist — meaning the X2 needs a longer distance to stop — or leave the Antilock Brake and Dynamic Stability Control systems working improperly, which NHTSA says can cause a loss of vehicle control. This is a safety recall, not a service bulletin, and the consequence stated is an increased risk of a crash. The 266,716 units cited apply to the campaign as a whole across BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles.

Symptômes: Power brake assist lost — firm, unassisted pedal · Extended stopping distance · ABS not operating properly · DSC not operating properly

Solution: Dealers replace the integrated brake system free of charge. BMW mailed owner notification letters between June and December 2024. To find out if your X2 is affected and still unrepaired, run the VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls and look for 24V104000, or call BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

Thumping or groaning noise from the front axle — bulletin SIB 31 01 26

Faible

On uneven roads a thumping noise can come from the front axle, and in some weather a groaning noise can be heard during steering movements. BMW traces it to the auxiliary damper (additional shock absorber) detaching from the front strut support bearing (guide support). Applies to: All BMW X2 (F39) models from start of production, as listed in BMW bulletin SIB 31 01 26 (February 4, 2026). The same bulletin also covers the newer U10 X2, the U11 X1 and several G-series models.

Solution: If the front axle thumps over uneven roads or groans while steering, have a BMW dealer check it against bulletin SIB 31 01 26. The bulletin's correction is to replace the left and right front support bearings and auxiliary dampers; the front spring struts are removed and dismantled and the new parts are bonded and pressed together, so this is technician work. Normal warranty rules apply; this is not a recall or a promise of free repair.
