On the 2015-2023 Jeep Renegade, the ZF 9HP48 9-speed automatic transmission suffers from delayed shifts, harsh gear changes, unexpected stalling, and confusion at low speeds. NHTSA recall covered 329,540 vehicles for insufficient crimps in the transmission wire harness that could cause unexpected shift to neutral. The transmission struggles with shift logic at low speeds, causing a jerky driving experience. TSBs in 2017 addressed bumps in 4th gear and harsh 4-5 upshifts.
