2019 Mazda CX-3 Problems: 10 Known Issues

On the 2019 Mazda CX-3 2.0L Skyactiv-G PE-VPS, the in-tank low-pressure fuel pump supplied by Denso was molded from resin with inadequate density. The impeller absorbs fuel, develops surface micro-cracks, swells and deforms, then contacts the pump housing and binds. The result is a long crank / no-start, or an engine stall while driving - usually at low speed, but Mazda's Part 573 report acknowledges stalls at higher speed in rare cases. NHTSA campaign 21V875 covers 2019 CX-3 among many Mazda models; the same Denso pump family drove recalls across several manufacturers and a class-action against Mazda and Denso. Owners often see a check engine light and rough running before the pump quits.
