On the 2008-2019 Toyota Sequoia 5.7L 3UR-FE, 2nd-gen Sequoias with the 5.7L 3UR-FE also suffer from secondary air injection pump failures, similar to the 1st gen but with updated part numbers. The pump seizes from internal moisture corrosion, triggering P2440-P2445 codes and check engine light.

Both first-generation (2001-2007) and second-generation (2008-2022) models are affected.

If this occurs, the ECU may not deploy the airbags as intended, in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," and 214, "Side Impact Protection."
