2012 Ford Flex Problems: 14 Known Issues

Ford's own analysis blamed a repositioned two-way locator on the trim that increased outward reaction force, combined with assembly-plant operators inconsistently using hand rollers to set the adhesive bond. Ford had logged more than 1,600 warranty claims for this part. A detached panel is a road-debris hazard for following traffic; before it lets go, owners hear wind noise and rattling and can see the top of the trim lifting away from the door when they get in or out.
